August 3, 2011 -- My seventh book, "Moose in a Flight Simulator," went live on Amazon yesterday, so that was a good thing.

What I'm looking for here -- someone local (i.e., close enough to actually meet in person), someone without kids and with no plans to ever have kids, and someone who doesn't drink. End of.

July 4, 2011 -- For those of you keeping score at home, my first post-Moving Day project is going to be a serial-killer-mystery thing using the Roy Collier character from Moving Day as the lead. No aliens, no time traveling dogs (unless I get stuck), no sci-fi at all. Just a completely different genre for no reason. This should be the book that comes out after White Rainbow, which is tentatively scheduled for next April.

June 19, 2011 -- I'm a writer, and I've had 6 books published since 2008. Contrary to popular belief, that doesn't make me unapproachable or intimidating or complicated. It just means I've written more books than most people. Most people don't get that. I'm here for the same reason as everybody else, whatever that is. And that means it's OK to contact me, unless you're one of my exes, and hopefully there are none of those on here. Hopefully.

Anyway, I've done the research. There really ARE people from Indianastan on this site, other than myself. But -- where ARE they? OK, they're in Indianastan, we already settled that part. I mean, where ARE they as far as using the site is concerned?

Well, I don't know. They don't seem to use the forums or the chatroom, and I haven't actually gotten any messages from any of them (well, I did, but that was awhile ago), and it would be good if I could meet someone from here. Preferably wearing a Batman shirt. (Obscure forum reference, if you don't get it, go look in the forums and buy a Batman shirt.)

May 27, 2011 -- I would like to meet someone near to where I live, which is in the godforsaken netherworld called "Indianastan" by those in the know. I live in Crown Point, which is at the sphincter end of Lake County, near the Illinois border. So if you would like to meet an internationally-acclaimed author (I can say that because my books are on sale in India, Norway, Japan, New Zealand, South Africa, and Germany, along with all of the normal countries), drop me a line. And it's OK if you buy some of my books, too. I won't complain.

April 12, 2011 -- The new book, "Moving Targets," was officially listed on Amazon today. Only $18.99. Such a bargain. Much cheaper than a private jet and probably a little safer.

March 29, 2011 -- Finished the text for my 6th book today -- now it's just a matter of a few edits, a couple pages of add-ons, and the cover. Hoping to have "Moving Targets" out by the end of April.

January 8, 2011 -- I'm a writer with 5 books published so far, with more to come. I like this site because there are non-mainstream people here. I'm looking for someone who is not ordinary -- someone intelligent and creative and who isn't committed to devoting her life to booze and babies. Not interested in LDRs (they don't work for me). So, if you live in Indianastan and can discuss m-theory at least semi-coherently, send me a message. If not, go to Amazon and buy my books. I should at least get SOMETHING out of this....!

August 29, 2010 -- I have to admit that I do find myself inexplicably attracted to girls who wear glasses, or who wear egregious amounts of eye makeup. Probably not both together, though, because it could be messy, and smudgy.

My deal-breakers: I will not get involved with anyone who has kids, or who uses drugs or alcohol. Period. No exceptions, unless you're Billie Piper.

July 20, 2010 -- Just sent the new book off to the publisher -- I decided to take a break from the "Moving Day" sci-fi series, so this new one is called "Lex Fonteyne's Ultimate Guide to Internet Dating," and it will probably be available through Amazon by next week. Now, I realize that me writing a book about internet dating is sort of like George Bush writing a book about nuclear physics (except his would have more misspelled words), but everybody needs a project.

April 1, 2010 -- Proof copy approved, "True Colors" is officially published.

March 31, 2010 -- Sent the PDFs for "True Colors" in, they've been approved, I'm just waiting for the proof copy to arrive. If it's OK, all I have to do is send them an e-mail and then it goes up on Amazon. Four books down, three to go (in this series).

March 16, 2010 -- Finished the last story for Book Four today -- a little more formatting and maybe rearranging the order of the stories, and it'll be off to the publisher. I was shooting for May, but might even have it out before the end of April.

February 9, 2010 -- Yes, I'm a writer. Shameless self-promotion alert: http://lexfonteyne.webs.com is my website, and there's some stuff there about my books. I'm probably going to add some things about shoes and llamas later, maybe Pop-Tarts, too, who knows?

December 24, 2009 -- I've been studying palindromes lately. I don't know why, but some of them are interesting. May a moody baby doom a yam? Sit on a potato pan, Otis. God, a red nugget! A fat egg under a dog!

Mainly I just want to find situations when I can use them in an actual conversation. It may take awhile. It's been months since I've seen a fat egg under a dog....

October 31, 2009 -- Proof copy arrived today, I've approved it, so the book will be listed on Amazon in the next few days....

October 29, 2009 -- Finally got the new book to the publisher, just waiting for the proof copy....

September 10, 2009 --

Hi. My name's Lex, I'll be your waiter. No, not really, but I've always wanted to say that.

Liking this site so far -- people are interesting here, they aren't the same cardboard cutouts I see on 1,000,000,000 other sites -- we could use a little more forum activity, I'm thinking....

I'm a writer -- two books published last year, with a third coming out shortly -- looking for someone non-mainstream. I'm divorced, no kids, I don't drink at all, I don't smoke, no drugs.

Hoping to meet someone who doesn't feel that the whole "marriage and kids" thing is the entire purpose of life; I've been on many dating sites (I'm even a forum moderator on one!) which are full of people who seem to be living lives based on inertia and social expectation rather than their own personal wants and needs.

I love the "individual" and "unique" types -- the smart ones, the creative ones, the ones who have something to say and know how (and when) to say it. The ones who don't bore me into a narcoleptic coma after three weeks.

"Mainstream" just doesn't do it for me -- be different, be yourself -- or, as I once explained it elsewhere, I'm looking for "someone who is so herself that other people can't even assimilate it. Because that's the only kind of person who is going to be able to keep me interested."

I figure maybe a site with "alternative" in its name might be a better venue to find who I'm looking for. You never know....

(By the way, if you're one of those Yahoo scammers and you e-mail me trying to get me to go talk to you somewhere else, that's not going to work. That's a red flag.)
