Until Embers Rise

Once the world was green, a paradise all have dreamed.
Full of life and without corruption it had seemed.
Until the march of man, with his flames of industry,
They ripped and they gnawed with their cruelty
Man had bent the earth, with their malicious will
Their catalyst would be an omen, for terra, most ill
All will fall, like dust, into the ashes.

At dawn of man, they could not even then be redeemed
So life, brought death, the wretched beast, their fiend
This hound of hell, was born of their own animosity
Its jaws and teeth flashed and gnashed with ferocity
Until with terror, their hearts did finally fill
From a beast that ravaged and would harshly kill
All that smolders from within the ashes

At the jaws of death had man most loudly screamed
His labyrinthine mind had known what was undreamed
Even then did man, continue in his great futility
Never truly did he understand balance’s frailty
The splinter in his mind ignored, even when he was still
Why it is that man can never transgress until,
All that is hope comes from the ashes
